Update about the Black Smoke Showing!

The show is almost here! Did you get tickets yet? If not, know that ticket sales are picking up. Here’s the direct link to get tickets before they are gone:

Here are some logistical things to know:

  • To get your tickets, you will need to go to the box office. This applies to everyone. The address for The Capital Fringe Box Office is 1150 Connecticut Ave NW Ste 101, Washington, DC 20036. It is about a 3 – 5 minute walk from the venue.
  • The actual address of the show is 1120 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20036. Again, this is about a 3-5 minute walk. (I posted the incorrect address before, so make to note this as the correct address)
  • Patrons are let into the venue 15 minutes before each scheduled curtain time.
  • No one will be let into the building ten minutes after the show starts. So, if you are late, you will miss the show that day. As we say in the military, be early to be on time!

For ticket holders, I will email you the day before with information about parking, seating, and any other details to help you get there. I’m looking forward to seeing you and those you bring with you!

After years of being an instructor in the military and the and the fire service, I realized I needed to improve my delivery. My students needed me to improve delivery. But how do I improve my delivery? Simple. I finally took a member of Toastmasters up on the invitation to come to a meeting. It wasn't long until I joined. Along the way of improving my skills at delivering a message, I came to understand that of all the ways to get a point across, telling stories is the best way to get it done. Around this time, another friend from Toastmasters told me about The Moth monthly story telling shows. What better way to test out my theories on storytelling. It's in my travels there to the shows that I found more and more shows, and classes, and events centered around storytelling. Despite how many people know about the storytelling world, not many people know about the storytelling world. So now, I'm out to tell the world about storytelling.
