The Public Speaker

How did I get started in public speaking? I slipped, tripped, and fell right into it! In 2014 I joined Toastmasters as a way to improve my delivery as an instructor in the fire service. I’ve been able to use the skills learned in Toastmasters to effectively teach and present topics on a range of subjects. Currently, I am a guest speaker for clubs and in 2020 did a workshop on storytelling for District 29. I also delivered the workshop “Stories of Excellence: Ordinary Stories, Extraordinary impact” at the 2017 Virginia Fire Equity and Diversity Conference.
